Monday to Friday from 7.15am to 6.00pm

We ask that the children arrive no later than 9am so that they can get their bearings and follow the programme for the day that has been drawn up by the teaching staff. Similarly, when it is time for them to go home, we ask that the parents arrive no later than ten minutes before the daycare closes, thus leaving plenty of time to discuss the day’s events.

The day nursery is closed:

  • for three weeks in the summer (the first three weeks in August)
  • on the Monday of the weekend of Jeûne Fédéral
  • for two weeks at Christmas
  • during Easter weekend
  • Ascension Thursday and Ascension Friday
  • Pentecost

Our school programme is tailored to the age of the pupils and revolves around the six following learning themes:

The emphasis is put on developing the child’s autonomy and their pleasure to learn and interact with other pupils. For most of the children it’s their first experience away from the comfort of their family. Self-confidence will be one of the pillars of this new class ; by becoming aware of what he is creating, each child will gradually increase his confidence in his skills and his pleasure to keep
learning.

From an early age, language acquirements revolve around four fundamental skills that constantly interact: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Even though acquisition of these skills is not exclusively limited to school classes, school education plays an important role in ensuring their best possible development. Language is one of the main elements used while developing one’s personality and constructing one’s vision of the world. It is also an essential socialisation and
communication tool and is fundamental to learn other languages. As a preamble of learning how to read, the children will explore basic sounds and a special emphasis will be put on how to hold a pen and graphic work to later on access the world of writing while already having learned how to form letters.

The goal of activities around mathematics is to bring the children to ask themselves questions, try, make mistakes, try again, exchange ideas, confront, develop avenues for reflexion, and question themselves again. Each child’s particularities and ways of thinking need to be taken into account.

Before starting work with numbers, children will look into shapes, time, space and measurements to provide them with solid basic skills for stepping into the domain of mathematics.

Early development activities are aimed at stimulating attitudes such as curiosity, thinking critically, a sense of wonder but also skills needed to structure and bring together different parts of the reality around us; in other words the environment where the child will grow. The goal of these activities is to understand time, space, matter and the human person through concrete experiences involving the child’s senses.

Artistic education involves intricately intelligence and body, imagination, symbolic meanings and reality, sensitivity and culture. In short, the entire personality and what it brings to the world. It eases acquisition of skills making the child capable of imagining, creating and getting to grips with reality. The children will be working with colours and various materials to create small shows, dances and songs.

Activities proposed with regards to physical development of the child are dedicated to work on motor skills, coordination, laterality and body control but also pleasure of moving, running, jumping. All of these activities are carried out in a safe environment.
